TCC Time!

Had wanted to try TCC's breakfast but we did not know that TCC Vivocity does not serve breakfast. What a waste. Thus, we had to go for the usual menu which I have tried many of the dishes.

So today, for a change, I ordered the Scallop and Baby Crayfish Baked Rice. It was served fast, way faster than the pastas which the rest ordered. I almost finished my dish before theirs were served to the table. Well, this baked rice was not bad. TCC is quite generous with the ingredients. Every mouth was almost completed with the japanese rice, the scallops, the baby crayfish and the shimeji mushrooms. The seafood was relatively fresh. But I guess, the salad garnish could have been more so that it will neturalise the cheese taste after half the bowl was down the stomach! Not a bad dish, should try!

Sis chose the Prawn Cheese-a-toast to share among us. I did not much impression of me having this dish previously. It was really a seafood treat for the day. The baguette slice formed the based on this baked dish topped with prawns and cheese. I thought the baguette slice could have been crispier. The prawn was almost the size of the baguette which I thought was great!

Last but not least, a drink to complete the meal. I chose the Litchi Raspberry Duet which is a smoothie blended with raspberry and lychee. And to make it better, they decorated the drink with the fresh fruits as well. You get to drink and eat them. It was a little bland, I thought.

I really would like to try the breakfast someday though!

River Safari Singapore - Panda Kai Kai and Jia Jia

Time to visit the River Safari after it opens for like a year or so. Sis has been saying that the two pandas are cute, super cute. Thus, decided to head down to the safari with parents on our birthday as it is free entry for the birthday one! All thanks to Singapore wildlife reserve group!

I guess pictures will tell more than the words could for the cuteness of the pandas. But well, let's talk about the food first at the safari. We visited the Mama Panda Kitchen which is located right after Kai Kai and Jia Jia's forest. So, we headed there for some snacks as Kai Kai was sleeping when we visited and Jia Jia was hiding away.

Well, we ordered the panda pau (with red bean paste), gyoza, and spring roll. For birthday purchase, there is a 10% discount on food. Good deal! Did I mention, there is also free ice-cream for the special one! Okay, to be honest, the food was not really that fantastic given the price we paid. But well, we were at a tourist attraction. The panda pau was really normal, but it was cute to look at.  *Photo time* For the dim-sum item, it was average, nothing fanciful!

River Safari, Mama Pandan Kitchen and the food!

And time for the cute pandas...

As what others mentioned, Kai Kai seems more 'lazy'. Fancy to lay back to eat its food!

Jia Jia is really cute. I love the photos I took with her in the picture! Totally awesome!

Haramiya Central

Finally tried out Haramiya Central after talking about it since last December. Always contemplating to have lunch there but was afraid that we will smell like BBQ for the rest of the day.

I guessed this is a fusion restaurant, Japanese influnced by Korean and vice versa. A Japanese BBQ restaurant with Korean dishes as well. But well, Korean BBQ is famous though. So, I got a little confused. But you will get a feel of both culture in this place.

Though this is a BBQ place, we did not try the BBQ this time round. I will be back to try that one fine day!. I ordered the Chicken Sundubu Jigae set. This set also includes the banchans which Koreans love but in the Japanese style. There is also kimchi which represents the Koreans and not forgetting the salad with the Japanese sesame sauce. I liked the stew - It was tasty.

Overall, this is a nice to have dinner and spent the rest of the night chatting. They will roll down the straw blinds between the tables to make it an 'exclusive' space for us. Nice!

Tom Yum Seafood Noodle @ Tom Yum Kungfu

Lunch at Circular Road is quite common and we have patronized Tom Yum Kungfu many times but have yet to blog about it. Tucked away in Circular Road, Tom Yum Kungfu is a Thai-inspired cafe serving authentic and affordable Thai cuisine. At Lunch time, it often draw crowds and queuing is a norm.

Well, normally I will order Tom Yum Seafood soup with rice. Today, I have the urge to order the Tom Yum Seadfood noodle instead. The noodle is like the instant noodle kind but Tom Yum Kungfu is very generous in the ingredients. In this bowl of noodle, there are the usual seafood like prawn (already de-shell), fish, squid as well as some fried skin thingy which I find it quite nice. The tom yum soup totally completed the whole dish. It was not those super spicy and sour base but it was really tasty. For S$9.90, this bowl of noodle comes with a side dish and drink. The side dish is the fried spring roll kind (served 2) and for the drink, often I will go for the Thai ice tea or milk tea.

An affordable place to settle lunch!

Seems that they serve Thai Mookata during dinner time, guess I need to plan a trip there for dinner soon.
