Comnam Broken Rice @ Raffles City

Value for money Lunch set at Comnam Broken Rice on weekdays. A bowl of Vermicelli with Fried Tilapia Fillet, and along side is fried wonton and a cup of coffee makes the mid day of the mid week a happy one. (at least, i seems to have saved some lunch money).

The serving was reasonable and did not shrink just because this is a lunch set. The fried Tilapia fillet was nice and flavourful that matched with the taste of the vermicelli. The fried wonton was crispy and well, mayo always a good choice to go with fried food.

The ice Vietnamese coffee was yumz.

Nam Nam Noodle Bar

Pre CNY lunch at Nam Nam Noodle Bar with Sis before heading to Chinatown for the Chinese New Year Market. The shop is always crowded and it is common to see long queue during meal times. Here, you would have to wait for a seat before ordering at the counter.

We had the lunch menu that come with a bowl of pho (a choice of your own), a salad and a glass of coffee - Quite worth the price at $9.90. Read a good news about Nam Nam and that is – no MSG at all. That means the broth is cooked with real good stuff that made it sweet and the addition of spring oinions, white onions, fresh herbs and bean sprout made the broth flavourful. The pho was springy. I ordered the Chicken pho where the chicken was tender. The broth really complemented both the pho and chicken. Yumz. The salad that made up of crunchy pickled vegetables, fish cake, pork belly and peanuts was great too. Personally I liked the pork belly a lot - tender! We ordered the Crispy fried prawn & pork rolls as side dish. This roll was served hot and it really lived up to its name. Crispy!

The pho at Nam Nam Noodle Bar may not be as good as those I had in Ho Chi Ming, but definitely worthy enough to at least give it a try especially when the 3-course lunch menu is priced at SGD$9.90nett. Well, the service at Nam Nam was excellent and basically you need not wait long for your food. From the time sis ordered at the counter till she took the utensils back, the food was already on the table. See how fast that was. I did not wait long for my food but queued long enough for it!
